Historic Evans McLean House
Historic records trace the Evans McLean property back to the late 1800s, when the owner of Breckenridge’s original drug store is believed to have built what now stands on the site. From the beginning, the design intent centered on continuity and craft—oak cabinetry, natural stone, organic tile, and vintage-inspired lighting all working together to honor the home’s original footprint. Each space was thoughtfully planned to feel efficient and true to the building’s unique historic layout.
Throughout the process, the owners remained deeply committed to preserving the property’s heritage, carefully protecting its historic character inside and out. During construction, the team uncovered an extraordinary piece of that history: a board signed by W.B. Stephenson and a secured safe—a rare and tangible link to Breckenridge’s earliest days which is now proudly displayed in the bar where new memories will be made.
